Frederick Post - August 2, 1975

Mr. John E. Darby, 90, life-long resident and farmer of Upper Montgomery County, died Friday, Aug. 1, at Reeder Nursing Home, Boonsboro.

Surviving are one son, J. Riggs Darby, Boyds; daughter-in-law, Helen P. Darby, Boyds; son-in-law, Galen McKeever, Silver Spring; two grandchildren, Mrs. Darby Cagigao, Silver Spring, and Dr. William Galen McKeever, Toronto, Can.; one sister, Mrs. Alice V. Griffith, Boyds; two brothers, Remus R. Darby, Frederick, and Lawrence J. Darby, Gaithersburg; and two great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Sunday, Aug. 3, at the Hilton Funeral Home, Barnesville. Services will be held Monday, Aug. 4, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Hayden L. Sparks will officiate. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.

The family requests that contributions be made to Poolesville Methodist Church.
