Mr. John Riggs Darby, 78, of 18715 Bucklodge Road, Boyds, died Friday, June 10, at Potomac Valley Nursing Home, Rockville. He was the husband of Helen P. Darby.
Born in Boyds, he was a son of the late John E. and Gertrude Hyatt Darby.
Mr. Darby was a retired lifelong farmer and active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Poolesville.
Surviving besides his wife are a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 13, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Fisher Avenue, Poolesville. The Rev. Stephen Hayward will officiate. Interment will be private.
