Phyllis Elaine Gloria Taus was born on September 19, 1931 in Poplar Grove Township, Roseau County, near Strathcona, MN, the 12th child of William and Kathrina (Kasprick) Taus.

Elaine was raised and educated in Poplar Grove Township. Elaine was united in marriage to Edward David Hanson on March 21, 1960 in Badger, Minnesota. They farmed and raised turkeys in the Greenbush commmunity. They had 4 children, Evonne, David, Evelyn and Gloria.

Elaine passed away on October 25, 1971 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
