Victor Alfred Taus was born on March 27, 1913 in Poplar Grove Township, Roseau County, Homolka, Minnesota, the third child of William Taus and Kathrina Mary (Kasprick) Taus. He was raised on his parents farm and attended country school in the area.

On June 22, 1938 Victor and Mary Elizabeth Cwikla were united in marriage at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Jane, near Middle River, Minnesota. They farmed near Strathcona, Minnesota until 1955 when they moved to Minneapolis. They lived in Minneapolis until they retired and then moved to Middle River, Minnesota.

Victor passed away on June 22, 1986 in Theif River Falls, Minnesota.

Victor is survived by his wife, Mary; three daughters, Phyllis (Don) Blazek, Angela Solfield (Neal Schmidt) and Joanne (Ken) Bombardier; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sisters: Mary Stinson, Sylvia Chrislock, and Leonella Kotta; brothers: Raymond Taus, Herman Taus, Leroy Taus and Wilfred Taus; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Darcy Solfield; sisters: Annie (Clarence) Hanson, Klara (Anton) Kaml, Gertrude Stamper, and Elaine Hanson and other relatives and friends.
