Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tues. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Karlstad. Visitation will be after 6 P.M. Mon. with a 7 P.M. prayer service at our Karlstad chapel and at the church one hour prior to services Tues. morning.
Edward David Hanson, the son of the late Bernt and Cora (Thompson) Hansen, was born on Sept. 28, 1929, in Greenbush, Minnesota. He grew up in the Greenbush area and graduated from Maplewood Academy in Hutchinson, Minnesota.

On March 21, 1960, Eddie was united in marriage to Elaine Taus in Badger, The couple farmed in Dewey Township of Roseau County, near Greenbush. The were blessed with four children. Elaine passed away on October 25, 1971.

Over the years, Eddie engaged in farming, raising turkeys, logging, construction, trucking and landscaping. Singing, gardening, traveling, visiting with family and fiends, ice fishing, old cars and photography were among his favorite pastimes. He also liked to collect windows and lumber for future projects.

Eddied unexpectedly on Thursday evening, August 5, 2010, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 7 days.

He is survived by one son: David (Lisa), of Greenbush; three daughters: Evonne (Lyndon) Gallimore, of Greenville, TN; Evie (John) Dickinson, of New Hope, AL; and Gloria (John) Umber, of Viking, MN; eleven grandchildren: Dane, Elesia, Kyle, Amanda, Mitchell, Cassia, Desiree, Brenna, Josiah, ‘Sy" and Cora; two great-grandchildren Jotham and Ryder; two brothers: Bernard (Mayme) Hansen, of Apison, TN and Lloyd (Maxine) Hansen, of Oroville, CA; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one son: Jeremy Secord; four brothers: George, Art, Richard and Joe; and three sisters: Ella, Hilda and Alma.
