Howard A. Weekes, 88, Lake Wabaunsee, Route 2, Alma, died Wednesday, April 11, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Weekes was a parts man for Martin Tractor Co. in Topeka 23 years before he moved to Lake Wabaunsee. He was an Army veteran of WWI, having served in the 88th Infantry Division.
He was born August 5, 1895, near Eskridge, the son of Joseph and Mary Barnett Weekes, and lived at Lake Wabaunsee the past 18 years.
He was married to Ramona Elwell Aug.4, 1926, at Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jean Billings, Hutchinson; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Austin Funeral Home in Eskridge. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
