Born December 15, 1928 in Great Cacapon, he was the son of the late Harold Edward, Sr. and Emma Grethel McCoy Michael.
He was a member of Wesleyan Chapel in Berkeley Springs. He taught Sunday School and was a board member at Berkeley Springs Church of the Nazarene.
He attended the Highland School.
He operated J.D. Michael & Son Lumber Company in Berkeley Springs.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mildred Ann Gallion Michael, at home; three sons, Andrew David Michael, Hedgesville, Steven Eugene Michael, Winchester, Va. and Lewis Reed Michael, Martinsburg; one daughter, Laurene Ann Pittman, Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Emma Mae Stotler, Berkeley Springs and Lynda C. Tracey, Fayetteville, Ark.; three brothers, Billy L. Michael and Gladston L. Michael, both of Berkeley Springs and Harold E. Michael, Jr. Kalispell, Mont.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Joey Linwood Michael; one sister, Marvalene M. Cain and three brothers, Don R. Michael, Reed C. Michael and an infant, Rodney Michael.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 4 at Wesleyan Chapel, Berkeley Springs with Rev. William C. Swope officiating. Interment was at Highland Cemetery.
The Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs handled the arrangements.
