Born January 13, 1933 in Morgan County, he was the son of the late Harold Edward Michael and Emma Grethel McCoy Michael.
He attended Highland School.
He was a data comptroller for IRS National Computer Center in Martinsburg and retired January 3, 1972.
He was a member of Highland United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ellen Hovermale Michael at home; one daughter, Crystal S. Chrisman, Powell, Ohio; one son, Marshall R. Michael, Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Emma Mae Stotler, Berkeley Springs and Lynda Tracy, Fayetteville, Ark.; five brothers, Joseph, Billy, Reed, Gladston Michael, all of Berkeley Springs and Edward H. Michael, Kalistell, Mont.; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Marvalene Cain and one brother, Rodney Michael.
A graveside memorial service with military rites by the Tri-State Honor Guard was conducted Tuesday, September 8 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Berkeley Springs, with Rev. Andrew Cooney officiating.
Arrangements were handled by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs.
