Father M. Jimenez of St. Mary's Parish, Marfa, Presidio County was the celebrant at the marriage of Juan Carillo of Fort Davis, son of Jose Carillo and Francisca Dominguez, and Amelia Vasquez of Fort Davis, daughter of Hilario Vasquez and Enriqueta Lailes. Witnesses were Lorenzo Quintana and Petra.
Amelia was with her sister Nora at the HeadStart Pre-Kindergarten Graduation when a torrent of rain and tornado winds demolished the Community Center building where the group had gathered in Saragosa. The Lord received both on that fateful Friday night, along with her grandson Lucas and Rodriguez nieces: Libby Contreras, and Irma Garza with her infant son Lionel.
