Enrique Vasquez was born in the small West Texas town of Balmorhea where his Grandfather and Great Grandfather established the farming community of La Loma on their homestead. Enrique was the fourth son of Enriqueta LYLES and Hilario Lopez Vasquez. He was baptized on 11 Jul 1920 according to the parish records of St Joseph, Fort Davis, TX. His Padrinos were his Uncle Pedro B. Vasquez and his Grandmother Severiana Lopez de Vasquez. He married Herminia "Nanita" Brijalba on 1 Mar 1946 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Balmorhea, Reeves, Texas. The Padrinos were Manuel Baeza and Sofia Natividad.
