Franklin Eugene "Gene" Crowe, 76 years of age, of Liberty, Kentucky, departed this life on Monday, April 25th, 2011.
Gene was born Maxey Valley, Kentucky on October 25th, 1934, son of the late Charlie Franklin Crowe and Sarah Turpin Crowe. He was retired from Texaco where he owned and operated several service stations. He was also a farmer, mechanic, and owned his own lawn care service. Gene was a member of Ellisburg Baptist Church and a Deacon.
Gene was survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Faye Cochran Crowe; one son, Phillip (and Janet) Crowe; two daughters, Sharon Stevens and Stephanie (and Rickey) Padgett; three brothers, J.T. Crowe, Glen Crowe, and Donnie Crowe; one sister, Nancy Griffin; ten grandchildren, Jason Brammer, David (and Danielle) Stevens, Twana Crowe, Holly Crowe, Elizabeth (and Brian) Waters, Felicia (and Ryan Patton) Crowe, Joshua "J.D." Hash, Rickey Lee Padgett III, Austin Crowe and Zachary Padgett; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Franklin and Sarah Crowe; two brothers, Haskel Crowe and Lonnie Crowe (who was Donnie's twin); three sisters, Louise Crowe Griffin, Beatrice Benedict, and an infant Hazel Crowe; and one son-in-law, Ray Stevens.
Visitations were held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28th, 2011 in the Chapel of the W.L. Pruitt Funeral Home and again after 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Ellisburg Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29th, 2011 at the Ellisburg Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Adams and Bro. Billy Maxey officiating.
His pallbearers were, David Stevens, Joshua Hash, Johnny Griffin, Randy Crowe, Danny Griffin, and Gary Wilson. His honorary pallbearers were, Jason Brammer, Rickey Lee Padgett III, Austin Gene Crowe and Zachary Padgett and the Deacons of the Ellisburg Baptist Chruch.
Burial followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Perryville, Kentucky.
