OBIT: Mrs. Lura Adis Durrett, daughter of the late Willis Milby and Leona Parker Milby, was born October 28, 1902 in Green County and departed this life at 2 a.m. Friday, August 18, 1978 in the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. She was 75 years, nine months and twelve days of age.
She hade made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Forrest Cumberland Presbyterian Church at the time of her death.
She united in marriage to Otha Thomas Durrett January 7, 1920 and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1976. To this union were born six sons and one daughter. Surviving are Hyman, Ancil, Calvin, and Vurnis Durrett all of Greensburg; Buford Durrett of Louisville and Mrs. Louise Hodges of Greensburg. Willis Jefferson Durrett preceded his mother in death November 6, 1925.
Mrs. Durrett is also survived by three sisters: Mrs. Pernie Marr, Mrs. Ada Walker, and Mrs. Coys Graham all of Greensburg; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 1978 in the Oak Forrest Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in the Wilson Cemetery. Reverends Shiley Beard, Irvin Milby Jr., and Mike Krech officiated. Arrangements were made by the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home of Greensburg.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Bishop, G. C. Parker, Doug Hodges, Mike Durrett, Steve Durrett and Jimmy Durrett.
