She was married to Alonzo Gilbert December 31, 1871. Two children were born to this union; Mrs. Ernest Maxwell of Hamilton, and Judson C. of Metz, Ind.
She confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized by Elder Dunn in her girlhood days. Her membership was with the congregation at Metz at the time of her death. All that loving care could do was done in her last illness. She leaves to mourn their loss, the daughter, the son, and son and daughter-in-law, and other relatives and friends. The husband, two sisters, and three brothers preceded her in death.
Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky;
Hundreds of shells on the shore together;
Hundreds of birds that go singing by;
Hundreds of bees in the summer weather;
Hundreds of dew drops to greet the dawn;
Hundreds of lambs in the purple clover;
Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn;
But only one mother in the wide world over.
Funeral service was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest Maxwell, Sunday, February 18, Rev. Ralph Bourne officiating. Burial at South Scott Cemetery.
