HIGHLY RESPECTED CITIZEN GOES TO HIS REWARD
News is received of death of a former citizen at his home in Arkansas
George Boyd, a highly respected citizen, died last night at 11 o'clock at his home on O'Neal Avenue. Consumption was the cause of death and he had been unable to be on the streets for about two months.
Mr. Boyd was sixty-four years of age and a native of Christian County, being a son of the late Drury Boyd.
Up to a year ago, when he removed with his wife to Hopkinsville to reside, he had followed agricultural pursuits, his farm being in the Kelly neighborhood.
He was a lifelong Christian and a member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by his widow, four sons and four daughters.
Funeral services were held at two o'clock this afternoon at the late residence, conducted by the Rev. Lindsay Spurlin, and the remains were interred in Riverside Cemetery.
