Martha "Mattie" Lewis Parry Hawes was born the 2nd daughter of Matthew Hanna Parry and Jane Telford McKee.

According to family bible records, Martha was united in marriage to Milo Clarence Hawes on the 16th of November 1863.

Death records indicate that she died a widow of an "apoplexy" (stroke).
