"Wirt countians were shocked and saddened Friday morning, June 30, to learn of the death early that day of Miss Zora Coe, aged 73, who passed away at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. She had left her home here the weekend before for a visit with her brother at Stockport, Ohio, but due to illness was taken to the hospital. She was a member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church, Elizabeth Temple No. 23 of the Pythian Sisters, and Laurel Council of Palestine, Daughters of America.

Surviving are five brothers, Tom Coe of Stockport, Ohio, Grover and Robert Coe of Parkersburg, Cecil Coe of Palestine, and Guy E. Coe of Elizabeth; and one sister, Mrs. Mamie Allman of Parkersburg.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, July 2, from the Elizabeth Baptist Church with the Rev. Vairl C. Winter officiating. Interment was in the Palestine cemetery.
