Discharged August 15, 1919, at Camp Sherman, Chillicothe, OH, he was later a schoolteacher, oil company bookkeeper and internal bank auditor in Elizabeth, WV. Five feet, seven inches tall, with brown hair, gray eyes and a ruddy complexion.
