Erla first married William Taylor Ward on August 31, 1908 at Rose City, Arkansas. They had one daughter together before he passed away in 1914.
On March 18, 1915, Erla married Enos McNamara Burt in Clarksville, Arkansas. In 1916 their son, Enos Kolb Burt, was born.
By 1920, Erla and Enos had moved and was living in Nowata, Oklahoma. They moved again, this time to Abilene, Texas where they're listed on the 1930 census.
Sometime after 1930, they moved to Wichita Falls, Texas where they finally settled. There they formed the Burt Tank and Oil Supply Company of Wichita Falls. Erla was an astute business woman and working together with her husband, their business became highly successful. They prospered greatly from their efforts.
Erla had a sudden heart attack in 1953 that caused her death. She is buried alongside her husband at the Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery in Wichita Falls, Texas.
