Born at Smedley, Arkansas in 1902, Myrtle Virginia Kolb was the sixth child born to Dr. Silas and Mollie Kolb. Myrtle Virginia's paternal grandparents were John Ervin and Artelia Stewart Kolb. Her maternal grandparents were Dr. Charles P. and Elizabeth Hardgraves Clark.

Myrtle Virginia was a talented musician and taught piano and organ in places such as New York City, Little Rock, Arkansas and Wichita Falls, Texas.

A dedicated member of the Presbyterian Church, Myrtle Virginia served her church as the organist during the time she lived in Wichita Falls, Texas.

On October 26, 1924, Myrtle Virginia Kolb wed Noah Flaude Gammill in Clarksville, Arkansas. Noah Flaude was the son of Noah Webster and Minnie Belle Morgan Gammill.

The Gammill's had one son, James Flaude, who became a medical doctor after graduating from Harvard and the Columbia Medical Center.

Myrtle Virginia passed away in Wichita Falls, Texas and is buried beside her husband in the Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville, Arkansas.
