Funeral services were held Thursday for Raymond Kempema, 51, of Rock Valley, at the Christian Reformed church with Rev. N. Beute of Inwood officiating. Burial was in the
Valley View cemetery at Rock Valley.
Mr. Kempema was born at Osterbierem, Friesland, Netherlands, Sept. 1, 1870, and came to this country in 1887, locating at Orange City for about 20 years.
Later he purchased a farm at Rock Valley where he lived until 1932 when he moved into town.
He married Hermina Vedders at Orange City in 1897 and to this union 13 children were born, three preceding him in death.
Survivors are the following ten, children, Ernest of Ireton, Charlie, Clarence, Henry, John, Mrs. Freda Greenweg, Mrs. Jeanette Van Maanen and Herman of Rock Valley, Mrs. Jennie Kooistra of Hawarden and Mrs. Fanie Kooistra of Hills, Minn.
