From the Petaluma Argus-Courier, June 20, 1956:
Mary A. Brazil
Mrs. Mary A. Brazil, 77, died at 9:15 p.m. yesterday at her home at 306 Bodega Ave. where she had lived for the past 20 years. She had been ill for the last four years.

The funeral will take place at 9:30 a.m. Friday from Sorensen's Funeral Home, thence to St. Vincent's Church where a Requiem High Mass will be celebrated at 9:45 o'clock. Interment will be in the Tomales Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tomorrow.

Mrs. Brazil was a native of Petaluma where she attended school. She was married in 1894 to Antone Brazil after which they engaged in dairy farming in the Sonoma Mountain area. A few years later they located in Tomales where they also farmed.

After Mr. Brazil's death in 1936 she moved to the Bodega Avenue address.

Mrs. Brazil was the mother of Antone Brazil and Mrs. Marie Voight of Tomales, Mrs. Lena Wyman of Santa Rosa, Mrs. Lillian Jensen of Palo Alto, Mrs. Ida Kaiser of San Francisco, Joseph Brazil of Concord and the late John and Geraldine Brazil.

She was also the sister of Tony Paula and Mrs. Lena Rose of Petaluma, Mrs. Rose Leete of Sebastopol and the late Harry, John, Joseph and Manuel Paula and Minnie Lewis. Mrs. Brazil is also survived by a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Vincent's Mother's Club and the SPRSI Society. She was active in the latter organization up to two years ago."

Friends and acquaintances are invited to attend funeral Friday, June 22, 1956 at 9:30 A.M. from the Chapel of the Sorensen Funeral Home, 400 Washington Street, Petaluma, thence to St. Vincent's Church, where a High Requiem Mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul commencing at 9:45. The Rosary will be recited Thursday Evening at 8 o'clock. Interment Tomales Catholic Cemetery.
