County Pioneer Dies at 72
TOMALES - Anthony J. 'Toni' Brazil, 72, died Sunday at his ranch near Tomales.

Mr. Brazil was well known in Sonoma County as the owner of the Brazil Ranch, started in 1903 by his parents. The ranch is located adjacent to Dillon Beach, near Tomales.

He had been in failing health and was found dead by a sister at 11:15 a.m. Sunday.

Mr. Brazil had lived on the ranch his entire life except for about 12 years, ending in 1934. He had operated the Brazil Store on Bodega Avenue. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Pacific Gun Club.

Survivors include a brother, Joe of Petaluma; four sisters, Mrs. Marie Voight of Tomales, Mrs. Lee Wyman and Mrs. Lillian Jensen, both of Santa Rosa, and Mrs. Ida Kaiser of Tiburon. He was the nephew of Tony Paula of Cotati and Mrs. Rose Leete of Santa Rosa and Mrs. Mary Rose of Sebastopol. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. at the Sorensen Funeral Chapel with a Requiem Mass scheduled at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Tomales at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Tomales Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at the Sorensen Chapel Tuesday at 8:30 p.m."

BRAZIL - In Tomales Jan. 14, 1968, Anthony (Toni) J. Brazil. Beloved brother of Joe Brazil of Petaluma, Mrs. Marie Voight of Tomales, Mrs. Lee Wyman and Mrs. Lillian Jensen both of Santa Rosa, and Mrs. Ida Keiser of Tiburon. Nephew of Tony Paula of Cotati, Rose Leete of Santa Rosa and Mary Rose of Sebastopol. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A member of the Pacific Gun Club. A native of Sonoma Mountains, aged 72 years.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral services Wednesday, Jan. 17, 1968 at 10:15 a.m. from the Chapel of the Sorensen Funeral Home, thence to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Tomales, where a Requiem Mass will be offered for the repose of his soul commencing at 11:00 a.m. Interment Tomales Catholic Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
