Wyoming County Times- August 20, 1896

Isaac Allen, of Hermitage, who came to the Pioneer grounds with the VanSlyke family, on August 5th, in a house on wheels, and located in the Pioneer grove died on Saturday afternoon and undertaker Tarplee conveyed the remains to Hermitage in the evening. His death was caused by a bowel complaint.

Isaac Allen who died at the Pioneer grove on Saturday, was 74 years of age. His remains have been sent to Wethersfield. He came to the lake on August 5th in a house on wheels to camp out.

The death of I.E. Allen occurred at Silver Lake Temperance Assembly grounds last Saturday night, after an illness of only a few days; his remains were brought to his late home, where funeral services were held Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A.L. Warren. The burial service was at Smith's Corners Cemetery, by the side of loved ones who had passed on before. Mr. Allen was for many years a prominent business man in this town. The bereaved family will have the sympathy of a large circle of neighbors and acquaintances.
