Donald Gene Baker
Donald Gene Baker, age 64, of Swifton, died Friday at St. Bernard's in Jonesboro, following a sudden illness.
Born at Springfield, Missouri, he was the son of Leroy and Ethyl Nicholson Baker. He was married to Iona Felton on May 29, 1953. Mr. Baker was a retired farmer and member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Iona Felton Baker, three sons, Michael Baker, Jerry Baker, and David Baker, all of Alicia; two daughters, Martha Hall, Swifton, and Marie Baker of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Baker, Benton; three brothers, Harold Baker, Walnut Ridge, Noel Baker, Clover Bend, and Gary Baker, North Little Rock; two sisters, Judy Barron, Dallas, Texas, and Jane Kelley, Benton; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral was Monday morning at 10:00 at the Swifton Church of Christ with Darrell Douglas officiating.
Burial was in Strangers Home Cemetery, near Alicia, under direction of Bryan Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Billy Reed, Alfred Cobble, Dana Jones, Tim Jones, Sam Allen, and Lilburn Rogers. Honorary pallbearers were Gary Haigwood, Jamie Haigwood, and Shaw Jones.
