Joseph Leroy Baker, age 90, of Benton, Arkansas was born on May 13, 1909 near Alicia and died November 20, 1999 at the Regional Nursing Center at Bryant. Leroy lived at Alicia and Swifton most of his life , moving to Benton 10 years ago. He was a retired farmer and a member of the church of Christ. He married his wife, Ethyl, on November 28, 1929.

Leroy was preceded in death by two sons, Don Baker and Jerry Dean Baker.

Survivors include his wife, Ethyl Nicholson Baker; two daughters, Jane Kelley of Benton and Judy Barron of Round Rock, Texas; three sons, Harold Baker of Walnut Ridge, Noel Baker of Clover Bend, and Gary Baker of North Little Rock; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was on November 24 at 10:00 at the Swifton church of Christ with Don R. House officiating. Burial was in Arnold Cemetery, near Swifton, under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

Grandsons and Tim Nicholson served as pallbearers.
