Branch
Anna Eliza Shere
was born in New York state, June 18, 1846, and died at her home in Minneapolis, Kansas, Sunday afternoon, Sept. 22, 1912. Her husband, Charles H., to whom she was married on July 3, 1864, died five years ago last January.

The family moved from Illinois to Kansas in 1870. They loved on the farm several years, and have resided in town since 1898.

Of the six children born to them four are living: Mrs. Nellie McGavran, living east of town; Mrs. Gertrude White, of this city; Mrs. Olive Bardrick of Beloit; and Fred Branch, of Cleveland, Okla. Mrs. Branch had been seriously ill for several weeks with heart trouble and other complications and the children were all at home at the time of her death as it was not unexpected. Beside the children the deceased leaves two brothers, W.E. and A.A. Shere of Illinois, and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Brown, who is at present living with her daughter, Mrs. James Miller near Ada. These were all present at the funeral, also two nephews, Elvin and Charles McGavran of Iowa.

Mrs. Branch was converted and joined the M.E. church when a girl, and has been a good sincere Christian all these years. She was a good wife, a loving mother and a faithful friends. She will be missed by very many. More than once she spoke to her pastor of her approaching death, and was both willing and prepared to go. The funeral services were held at the Branch home on Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. S.A. Chappell of the M.E. church.
