Elmer D. Heard, 71, died Thursday, January 27, 2011. Funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with burial in Gatlin Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight at 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Betty M. Heard.

Elmer D. Heard, 71 of Elkmont, Alabama died on Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Huntsville Hospital.
Born Thursday, October 5, 1939 in Toney, Alabama, he was the son of the late Murphy Heard and the late Gracie Broadway Heard.
He was the husband of Betty Michael Heard.
He was a lifelong member of this area, of the Baptist Faith, and retired from Lance Snacks after 28 years of service.
Surviving are wife: Betty M. Heard of Elkmont, AL, sons, Jerry (Brenda) Heard of Elkmont, AL and Troy D. (Mollie)Heard of Pulaski, TN, brothers, Harvel Heard of Toney, AL and Alton Heard of Toney, AL, sisters, Lola Mae Ferguson of Toney, AL, Kathleen Marberry of Toney, AL, Opal Hereford of Toney, AL and Margie Jones of Fayetteville, TN, seven grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Sammy Brister officiating. Burial in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL
