Frank M. Sires, 78, of the 7500 block of Hampton Blvd., died Oct. 10, 1997, in a local nursing home.
He retired from the Norfolk Sheriff's Department as a deputy sheriff and he also retired from the U.S. Navy. Born in Roanoke, Mo., Mr. Sires was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Norview Masonic Lodge No. 113, Norfolk Scottish Rite Bodies and Fleet Reserve Branch 5.
Survivors include his wife, Mardell Sires; a son, John T. Sires and his wife, Toni, of Norfolk; three brothers, Jethro Sires of Roanoke, Mo., and his twin brother, Foster Sires of Liberty, Mo., Harry Sires of Mobley, Mo.; two sisters, Fannie Sue Ireland of Indianapolis, Ind., Carrie Folkes of Mobley, Mo.; two granddaughters, Anne and Erica. He was predeceased by a son, Frankie, in 1964.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Fred Braswell. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church following the service. Masonic Rites will be accorded in the funeral home. NORFOLK - Frances W. White, 100, died Oct. 9, 1997. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge.
