Mrs. Lucy Viola Hawkins, wife of Gilmer Richard Hawkins, Urbana, died at Frederick Memorial Hospital on Friday at 4:30 o'clock following an illness of six weeks. Aged 63 years, she was a daughter of the late Zachariah and Katherine Grimes Woodfield. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of the Urbana Methodist church.
Surviving are her husband and these children: Mrs. Glenn Crittenden, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Edwin Gilmer Hawkins, RFD 1, Frederick; Mrs. Ridgely Boyer, Severn; William Kenneth Hawkins, RFD 5, Frederick; Mrs. Leroy Hildebrand, Woodsboro; David Hubert Hawkins, RFD 2, Frederick; Earl Woodfield Hawkins and Jean Elizabeth Hawkins, both at home; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Walter Childress, Mrs. Joseph Ford, Mrs. James Sweeney, Rufus Woodfield, all of Richmond, Va.; Russell T. Woodfield, Washington; 15 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The body rests at the funeral home, 106 East Church street, where friends may call this afternoon. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home Monday afternoon at 2 (DST). Interment in Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville.
