BURLEY - James Donald Blanch, 84, Burley died Wednesday, April 23, 1997, at Minidoka Memorial Extended Care. He was born 24 Feb 1913, in West Weber, Utah the son of Joseph and Laura May Etherington Blanch. He married Eva Josephine Johnson on Dec 15, 1933, and they were later divorced. He married Georgia Elaine Egan on Oct 30, 1943, in Burley. he grew up in West Weber, where he farmed. He moved to Burley around 1942. He joined the U.S. Army and served two years in Germany. Upon his discharge, he returned to Burley, where he continued his farming operations until his retirement. He was a member of the LDS Church, serving in may capacities.
He is survived by his wife Georgia of Burley: four sons, Jerry Donald (Marilyn) Blanch of Delta Utah, Robert Fred (Martha) Blanch of California, Roy Lavern (Garland) Blanch of San Jose, Calif., Eddie Gene (Nancy) Blanch of Burley; one daughter, Laura Leigh (Jim) Petterson of Provo, Utah: 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Grant Blanch of Corvallis, Ore., and John Blanch of Ogden, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and two brothers.

The funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, April 28 In the Star Ward Chapel, 100 S 200 W., Burley, with Bishop Joe Sagers officiating. Burial will be in Gem Memorial Gardens in Burley with military graveside rites by local veterans and auxiliaries.
