JOHN THOMAS SKIDMORE

John Thomas Skidmore, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Skidmore, was born Aug. 2, 1877 in Lucas, Iowa and passed away suddenly on Thursday evening, April 8, 1954, at the age of 76 years, eight months and seven days.

Thomas, more commonly known as Tack, received his education and lived most of his life in Lucas county. He was married on July 27, 1901 to Miss Hilda Peterson, to whom were born two sons, Edwin, of Tucson, Ariz., Melvin, of Des Moines, three daughters, Marie, of Osceola, Ruth, who passed away in 1948, and one dying in infancy. His wife also preceded him in death in 1951.

In addition to his children he is survived by one brother, O. T. Skidmore of Des Moines, two grandsons, four granddaughters, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at the Lucas Presbyterian church with the Rev. A. E. Beals officiating. Burial was in the Chariton cemetery.
