RUTH AMELIA SKIDMORE

Ruth Amelia Skidmore, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Skidmore, was born at Lucas, Iowa, on November 29, 1907, and passed away at Oakdale, Iowa, December 20, 1948, at the age of 41 years and 22 days.

Ruth lived her girlhood days in Chariton and Lucas. After graduating from Nurses Training at the Washington County hospital she worked at the Henry County hospital and for the past 18 years has been night supervisor at Skiff's Memorial hospital in Newton.

Ruth joined the Presbyterian church at Lucas in 1922 and has been a devout friend to all.

She leaves to mourn her passing the parents, one sister, Mrs. E. R. VanScoy, of Osceola; two brothers, Edwin, of Lucas, and Melvin, of Des Moines; four nieces and two nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 22, at 2 o'clock at the Beardsley Funeral Home. Rev. Archie Beals, of Russell, and Rev. Boldt, of Newton officiated. Burial was made in the Chariton cemetery.
