Ervin Moody Lambert, 66, farmer of the Earle community of Williamsburg County, died at home Sunday, February 24, 1952.
Mr. Lambert was born July 7, 1885, in the Oceda community of Georgetown County. He was a son of the late William Ralston "Billy" Lambert and the late Mrs. Millie Powell Lambert. He had lived at Earle since his marriage to the former Miss Minnie Lee Johnson.
He had served as a deacon of Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church and for 18 years was superintendent of the Sunday School.
He was survived by his widow; four daughters, Mrs. Gleny Powell of Lancaster, and Mrs. Edward Powell, Mrs. Horace Ackerman, and Mrs. Mannie Cannon, all of whom live near Andrews; eight sons, Mannie Lee Lambert of Aiken and Andrews; Willie Lambert, Cecil Lambert, and Roland Lambert, all of Lancaster; Bill Lambert of Rockingham, NC; Jule Lambert, Ervin Moody Lambert Jr., and Clyde Lambert, all of whom live near Andrews; 37 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Manuel Lambert, Freeman Lambert, and Capers Lambert, all of Georgetown County; and two sisters, Mrs. Calvin Johnson of Andrews and Mrs. Ellen Morris of Lancaster.
Funeral services were Monday, February 5, 1952, in Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church. The Rev. David McKenzie, the Rev. Lacey Drew, the Rev. Bob Stalvey, and the Rev. Dwight Miles officiated. Burial, directed by Mayer Funeral Home, followed in Bird Pond Cemetery.
