George and several other men, boisterous from strong drink, pestered an elderly man, "Andrew Kinyon" Lambert. Andrew wounded George severely with a shotgun blast. George was taken to Roper Hospial in Charleston, where he died a few days later.
When "Andrew Kinyon" was tried, a jury found him not guilty because "he was defending his castle."
George's grave is not marked. His death certificate says he is buried at Oceda, which is an alternative name for Sandridge.
