Freeman Lambert, retired painter and commerical fisherman, died suddendly Sunday after a long period of declining health.
Funeral service were held Tuesday in the Cana Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating was the Rev. J. B. Floyd. Burial followed in the Elmwood Cemetery Annex under the direction of Mayer Funeral Home.
Mr. Lambert was born in the Oceda section of Georgetown County on May 1, 1903, a son of the late Billy Lambert and Mrs. Minnie Powell Lambert. Mr. Lambert had spent his entire life in and near Georgetown, and was a member of the Cana Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Violet Idel Johnson Lambert of Georgetown; a son Thurmond Lambert, also of Georgetown; four daughters, Mrs. Lillian Gainey and Mrs. Ruby Smithwick, both of Sumter, Mrs. Juanita Morris of Placida Fla; and Mrs. Corrie Mae Elliott of Georgetown; fifteen grandchildren and a sister Mrs. W. Calvin Johnson of Andrews.
