God called Mr. Paul Leon Allison, 88, of Hector, Arkansas, home to be with him, November 17, 2010, en route to Dover with his daughter, Nina Jean Allison.

He was born September 24, 1922, the son of Theron Claude and Sadie Elmyra Cotton Allison.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre on Guam as a Machinist Mate and worked on the repair of our Naval ships. He was an active member, Trustee and Sunday School Superintendant of Cedar Grove Assembly of God Church. He was employed at Firestone Tire and Rubber at Russellville for 20 years, and was a maintenance foreman and manager for several of those years. Paul was the owner and operator of a sawmill at Hector for many years and enjoyed gardening, his cattle and all of his grandchildren.

He was past president of the Hector Public School Board for several years. He managed his home and farm in the Cedar Grove Community near Hector and was a member of the Arkansas Cattleman's Association.

He married Florence Geneva Hefner, of Davidson, Oklahoma, October 15, 1944, just a short time before his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1945. They lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, for eleven years until 1956, at which time they moved to Hector. During that time Paul was employed at Barney Stuart Lumber Co., B. S. & B., and Riss Freight Lines.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Florence Geneva Hefner Allison; one son, Glen Dale Allison; and grandsons, Peyton Samuel Conn and Cory Wayne Allison; two brothers, Benjamin and Voris Allison; three sisters, Irene Allison Reed Bowen, Flora I. Allison Henderson, and Floy V. Allison. His survivors include: daughter, Paula Diane Allison, Hector; son and daughter-in-law, Lavoin Keith and Nita Allison, Boerne, TX; daughter and son-in-law Katheryn Marie and Danny B. Wooten, Scottsville; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Gail and Michael Collins, Dover; daughter, Nina Jean Allison, Dover; son, Anthony Wayne Allison, Hector; son and daughter-in-law, William Douglas and Sharron K. Allison, Hector; and daughter, Amy Louise Allison Larson, Hector; one brother and sister-in-law, James L. and Anna Allison, Hector; one sister, Velma Allison, Hector. Also included are 21 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Humphrey Chapel with Rev. Dean Caldwell, and Rev. Bob Judkins officiating. Burial will be at the Rock Springs Cemetery at Hector by Humphrey Funeral Home. The family will received friends from 6-8:00pm Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Helton, Jason Allison, Henry and Charley Wooten, David Collins, Ben and Ray Conn, Josh Allison, and Alex and Dallas Larson. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Cedar Grove Assembly of God Church.
