Merritt "Mike" Truslow, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 29, 2009.

Mike was a resident of Chickasha, Oklahoma. He was born in Batesville, Virginia, on March 30, 1936, to Montague and Sophie Key Truslow.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Mark, Dempsey, Randolph and Elwood; and three sisters, Lillian Baber, Geraldine Kirby, and Barbara Harris.

He is survived by his wife, Orena Workman; three daughters, Sandra Goodrich and her husband, Tom, Ethel Rayburn and her husband, Brian, and Joann Ryan and her husband, James; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He also leaves behind three sisters, Denona Carver, Hawsie Fitzgerald and Lena Call.

Mike was a long-time resident of the Covesville, Virginia, area and will be greatly missed by many friends here. Mike was a long-time member of Covesville Baptist Church, and was very active in the community until his move to Oklahoma.

Arrangements in Oklahoma were handled by Ferguson Funeral Home in Chickasha.

A local memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2009, at Covesville Baptist Church with Pastor Nathaniel Rexrode presiding.

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to a charity near and dear to Mike's heart, Friends Who Care Ministry, c/o Lucy Howe, Batesville, Virginia 22924.
