William Dempsey Truslow, 80, of Louisa, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.He was born July 28, 1921, in Albemarle County, and was a son of the late Montegue Truslow and Sophie Key Truslow.

He was married to the late Raynelle Virginia Truslow, and was a member of Forest Hill Methodist Church of Gordonsville.

Mr. Truslow is survived by one daughter, Wanda Gilbert of Troy; two sons, Donald Truslow and Timothy Truslow, both of Louisa; one brother, Mike Truslow of Covesville; five sisters, Lillian Baber, Geraldine Kirby and Lena Call, all of Batesville, Hawsie Fitzgerald of Waynesboro, and Denona Carver of Covesville; special friends, Joyce Truslow and Bruce Roarke of Louisa; and by a large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Marrs; two sons, Wayne Truslow and Roger Truslow; two brothers, Elwood Truslow and Randolph Truslow; and a sister, Barbara Harris.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Wildrose Cemetery in Batesville, officiated by the Rev.Fred Marvel. The family will receive friends at their homes.Memorial contributions may be made to the Louisa Animal Shelter, Louisa, Va. 22093.Preddy Funeral Home of Gordonsville is in charge of arrangements.
