Thomas J. Armstrong (1820 NC-1908) was married to Elizabeth M. Armstrong (9/27/1822-6/8/1911). She was blind for over 26 year before she died.

Their known children were: Andrew J. (1843/4-1912) Armstrong (sp. Nora), Ellen (1845-1915) Armstrong Nash (sp. Aaron), Harriet O. (1850-1931) Armstrong Sturdevant (sp. Hart S.), George W, Armstrong (1852 - 1879) Had a wife but so far I don't have her name), Frank U Armstrong (1854-1930) (sp. Sarah Wood, 2nd sp. Sadie Biddle), Alta C. Armstrong (1856-1858), Mary D. Armstrong (1858-) Howden (Sp. Lewis Wells), John N Armstrong (1860-1930) (sp. Nettie Hopkins), and Charles Armstrong (1863-1938) (sp. Mary Fowler).
1850, & 1865 censuses and FAG. The family was referred to as a family of 8 kids, I think maybe it was because Alta died by age 2, and wasn't alive in any census years, so there is no proof, Charles was the last to pass away. Harriet's obit

An Unusual Family Group
Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Armstrong, who have been spending part of the winter at their son's, A. J. Armstrong's, have returned to their daughter's at Canisteo.
Their departure breaks up a family group that probably was not duplicated in any other town or city of the state, and perhaps in the United States.
The center of this unusual group was Master Robert Armstrong, a great grandson of Mr. and Mrs. T, J. Armstrong, who made four generations of the Armstrong family living in the same house,. His father and mother Mr. and Mrs. Reuben A. Armstrong, his grandfather and mother. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Armstrong, and his great grandfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Armstrong. In addition to these he is one of four generations in connection with his mother, whose father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. G. O. Hood, and Mrs. Hood's father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Witter, live in this village.
