RANTOUL - Opal Jane Auterson, 75, of Ludlow died Saturday (May 13, 2006) at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 East Grove Ave., Rantoul. The Rev. Glen Crouse will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Rantoul.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the memorial chapel.
Mrs. Auterson was born April 24, 1931, in Nancy, Ky., a daughter of Columbus and Calutha Sayers Bray. She married Elvis G. Auterson on Dec. 15, 1952, in Champaign. He died Dec. 2, 1992.
Survivors include a son, Steve Auterson of Ludlow; a daughter, Teresa Boggess of Rantoul; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers, Ernie Bray and Owen Bray, both of Sommerset, Ky., Ralph Bray of Cincinnati, Boyd Bray of Peoria and Rickie Bray of North Carolina; and three sisters, Becky Presley and Pam Cain, both of North Carolina, and Vera Redmond of Nancy.
She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
Mrs. Auterson owned and operated Ludlow Grocery for 10 years. She also worked at Champaign County Nursing Home and Magnavox.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
