Haskell Owens Shanks, s/o Van Everett Shanks (1884-1953)& Ellen Denton Maynard (1880-1965), both buried in Smellage Cemetery, Boma, Putnam Co., TN.

Funeral services for Haskell Shanks, 63, of Warren, MI, will be held today at 3:00 p.m. at the chapel of Hooper Huddleston Funeral Home. Charlie Lemons, minister of Willow Ave. Church of Christ will be the officiating minister. Burial will be in the Crest Lawn Cemetery, Putnam Co., TN.
Mr. Shanks died last Sunday November 14, 1971 in Warren, MI, following a long illness. He was a native of Putnam County, and the son of the late Van Everett and Ellen Maynard Shanks.
There was a funeral service for Mr. Shanks in Roseville, MI, from Kaul Funeral Home on Wednesday November 17 at 10 prior to his remains being shipped to Cookeville for burial.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nell Palmer Shanks; 1 brother, Floyd Shanks, of Goodletsville, TN; 5 sisters, Mrs. John Boyd, Warren, MI, Mrs. William "Bill" Mervin Denny, Lebanon, TN, Mrs. Jim Grisham, Memphis; Mrs. Tom Floyd, Old Hickory, TN, Mrs. Hara "Harry" Lea Anderson, Cookeville.
