Lawrence Alvey, 62, a carpenter of Route 2, Clarkson died 12/16 at his home in Clarkson. Born Sept 4, 1910 in Hart Co, KY he was the son of George Alvey and Gertrude Bradley Alvey. Survivors include his wife Juanita Pierce Alvey of Route 2 Clarkson , two daughters, Mrs Antoinette Meredith of Route 2 Clarkson, Mrs Brenda Higdon of Louisville, four brothers Clarence Alvey and Colbert Alvey of Route 2 Clarkson, Paul Alvey of Louisville and Herman Alvey of Leitchfield, two sisters Mrs Dolly Higdon of Louisville, Mrs Alberta Hayse of Chandler, IN, six grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were held Dec 18 at 11am at St Anthony Catholic Church by the Rev William Borntraeger with the interment in the St Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Sid Rogers.
