John A. Carpenter died at the family home at 214 East High street Friday evening at 9 o'clock following a several weeks serious illness. The deceased was 50 years old.
Mr. Carpenter was taken ill last April since which time he gradually grew worse until claimed by death.
Besides a wife, Mrs. Sadie M. Carpenter, the deceased is survived by a step-son, one sister, Mrs. Alice Findley, who resides near Seymour and one brother Ulysses Carpenter, of this city, together with several other relatives and many friends.
The funeral will be held from the St. Ambrose Catholic church Monday morning at 9 o'clock, Rev. C. J. Conrad, conducting the service. Interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery.
