DAVIS SR., KENNETH W. DAVIS, SR. died 2:13 p.m. Friday, December 27, 1991, at Medical Center of Baton Rouge. He was 70, a native of Fryeburg, Louisiana and resident of Jarreau, Louisiana. He was a retired executive vice-president of Glazer Steel Corp. and U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.

Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 10 to 11:50 a.m. Monday. Religious services at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at noon Monday, conducted by Msgr. William Greene. Burial in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Survived by wife, Marie L. Davis, Jarreau; a daughter, Janet Claire Davis Law, Lake Charles; a son, Kenneth W. Davis Jr., Baton Rouge; four sisters, Jean Watts, Central, Edna Jones, Logansport, Doris Woodard, Congress, Ariz., and Martha Louks, Montgomery, Ala.; three brothers, A.L. Davis, St. Amant, D.C. Davis, Bossier City, and W.B. Davis, North Carolina; and five grandchildren, Ken W. Davis III, Brock Joseph Davis and Megan Michelle Davis, all of Baton Rouge, Jennifer Claire Law and Robert Brian Law, both of Lake Charles. Preceded in death by parents, William Green Davis and Ila Belle Harrison Davis; a brother, Oscar Davis; and a foster daughter, Jessie Langlois Marty.

Pallbearers will be Ken W. Davis III, Brock J. Davis, Bill Haigler, Thomas Langlois Jr., Jimmy Gremillion and John Moral. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Ourso, Eugene Alexander, Dr. Douglas Beck, Billy Guste, Ken Osterberger, Judson Ourso Jr., Roy Steib, Judge Melvin Shortess and Albert George Langlois.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Lakeland. He was a native of Bienville Parish, LA and moved to St. Gabriel in Iberville Parish, LA in 1935. He moved to Baton Rouge in 1939 and resided there until 1977 at which time he retired and moved to False River. He was an executive with a steel firm, past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2807 and was District Deputy and a former state advocate of this fraternal organization. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Baton Rouge Safety Council, Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce, Sherwood Forest County Club, Disabled American Veterans, Board of Adjustment for the Planning Commission of Baton Rouge and also was a member of A.A.R.P.

He was a Veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific Theatre. He was a Staff Sargent and received a battle field commission on Leyte in the Phillipines and was separated from the service as a First Lieutenant in 1947. He was awarded the bronze star with Oak Leaf Cluster with V for Valor on Okinawa where he was wounded in action and hospitalized for two years. He received the Purple Heart, and Combat Infantry Badge.
