Mrs. Gladys L. Grinestaff
Mrs. Gladys L. Grinestaff, 71, of 14 E. Third died at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 2, 1980) at her home. Vermilion County Coroner Gary Ballard said death was due to natural causes.
Mrs. Grinestaff, who had lived at the Third Street address for 38 years, had been an election judge at the former Grant School for 35 years. She attended the First Congregational Christian Church. Her hobbies included gardening and flowers.
Born April 14, 1909, in Westville, Ill., she was the daughter of George and Addie Jackson Bostwick. On April 2, 1927, in Paris, Ill., she married Larkin Grinestaff. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Barbara) Watson of Danville; two sons, Joh of Danville and George of Oakwood, Ill.; a brother, Floyd Bostwick of Danville; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Cox, Mrs. Eileen Ervin and Mrs. Doris Johnson, all of Hoopeston, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, four sisters and a grandson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Barrick and Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Bostwick will officiate, and burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.
