Morgan F. Chavis, 68, of South Ott Rd., Columbia, died Sunday at Providence Hospital after a short illness. Born in Neeses, he was a son of the late Arthur and Mamie Hutto Chavis. He was a member of the Mount Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a retired carpenter. Surviving are two brothers, Earl Chavis of Greenville and Harvey Chavis of Travelers Rest; a sister, Mrs. Rosa Lee Williams of West Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 5 p.m. today at Mr. Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church, conducted by the Rev. Emery Martin. Pallbearers will be Ronnie, Arthur, Lewis, Tracy and Paul Chavis and Jerry Kodek.
