Davis, Ella G. 1866 1945

Mrs. Ella Christiana Davis died at the home of her son, Earl Davis of West Township at 2:50 this morning, Saturday, May 19, 1945. She had been ill for two weeks.

Mrs. Davis was born in Altoona on January 19, 1866, the daughter of Henry Kocher and Mary A. Thompson Kocher.

On December 29, 1892, Ella Kocher was united in marriage to Elmer Davis and she had been a resident of West Township ever since. Mr. Davis preceded her in death on February 26, 1944.

Surviving are two sons, Ernest of Detroit, Mich.; and Earl of Petersburg R.D. Also surviving are five grandchildren, one foster daughter, Mrs. Albert Kruger of Philipsburg; two sisters: Mrs. Chal Davis of Warriors Mark; and Mrs. S. M. Schell of Williamsport; and a brother, H. J. Kocher of Altoona. A son, Cloyd K. Davis, for whom the Petersburg Post of the American Legion is named, died in the First World War.

Mrs. Davis was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 on Wednesday at the Bethel Presbyterian Church, the Rev. C. O. Anderson officiating. Interment will be made in Mooresville Cemetery. Friends may call at the late home after six o'clock Sunday evening. Temple funeral service.
