KOCHER. – Mordecai Kocher, a well known resident of Spruce Creek valley, died at two o'clock on Monday afternoon at the home of his brother Edward, at Graysville, following an illness of over a month with a complication of diseases.

He was a son of Henry and Mary Thompson Kocher and was born near Saulsburg, Huntingdon county, on July 10th, 1860, hence was not quite sixty-three years old. Most of his life was spent in farming but about six years ago he quit the soil and took a job in the P. R. R. shops, at Altoona, where he was working when overtaken by illness. He was a member of the Allegany Gateway Lodge I. O. O. F., of Tyrone, and a splendid citizen.

Twenty-three years ago he married Miss Elizabeth Everhart, of Spruce Creek valley, who died six years ago, but surviving him are four children, Montgomery Kocher, Sadie and Ruth, all of Graysville, and Henry, of Belleville. He also leaves two brothers and three sisters, namely: Harry Kocher, of Altoona; Edward, of Graysville; Mrs. Elmer Davis, of Shaver's Creek, and Mrs. Shiner, of Marklesburg.

Funeral services were held at his late home at Graysville at two o'clock on Wednesday afternoon by Rev. H. D. Fleming, assisted by Rev. Shaffer, of Petersburg, after which burial was made in the Graysville cemetery.
