Port Wentworth - Mrs. Martha Evelyn Clifton DeWitt, 80, died on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at Hospice Savannah.

The Bulloch County native was a member of the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church where she was a member of the U.M.W. and a member and former president of the Oscar Bell Sunday School Class. She was also a member and past secretary of The Silver Threads.

She retired from Union Camp after 38 years of service and was preceded in death by a son, Danny Sikes and a daughter, Debra Diane DeWitt.

Survivors include her husband, Johnnie E. DeWitt of Port Wentworth; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and J.P. Sapp of Rincon; grandchildren and spouses, Tina and Gary Holloway of Brunswick, Tonya and Jim Rinaldi of Rincon, Jamie and Sheri Sapp of Rincon and Shannon Sikes; great-grandchildren, Gregory Loper, Victoria Holloway, Tyler Loper and Evan Rinaldi; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Clifton Williams of Byromville, Cleonice Clifton of Savannah, Sarah Lee Clifton Black of Leefield, Winston and Jackie Clifton Hagan of Leefield and Linda and Bob Keller of Augusta; brothers and sister-in-law, Bob Lee Clifton of Savannah and Carroll Eugene and Carol Clifton of Savannah and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral: 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church.

Mrs. DeWitt will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. at the Church.

Interment: Hillcrest West Cemetery.
