Son of Ezeriah and Rolda Roberts Pepper. Born in Lawrence County, MS and moved with his family to Union County, AR around 1840. It was there that he met and married Elizabeth Jane Moulton/Maulton March 5, 1854. When his father and brothers moved their families to Louisiana, he followed. He died sometime between 1894 (When he was a witness for the homestead of Robert E. Hughes: see The Comrade, December 13, 1894) and 1900 (his wife is listed as a widow on the census.). Family history states that he and his wife are buried in Transport cemetery, although no headstone exists. He and his wife are most likely buried close by their daughter Florence.
